The company Eurostroj, spol. s r.o. in order to improve their quality and simplify work, they strive for utilisation of best computer programmes.

DESIGNING:

Since the very beginning the company started utilising the AutoCAD 2D graphic system with the MechSoft-Profi engineering superstructure for processing their design and production documentation. The AutoCAD 2D graphic system was soon upgraded to a 3D Autodesk Mechanical Desktop-based solution which was successively replaced with licences of the Autodesk Inventor Series and Autodesk Inventor Professional system. The Autodesk Inventor design system was selected as the primary graphic system not only thanks to its direct continuance to 2D documentation, prepared earlier in the AutoCAD programme, but mainly in relation to an easy solution of complex spatial tasks and the possibility to create very complex 3D models. The Autodesk product solution is utilised within the company at two typical levels:

  • for the preparation of project documentation of technological units
  • for the design of new machine equipment, supporting steel structures or repair of machine equipment

Preparation of project documentation is a specific activity in which the combination of 2D and 3D product solution is fully applied. Using simple models of manufacturing halls and simple machine models, the design engineer first assembles the basic layout of a specific technological unit. On this elementary 3D model the layout of machines can be easily solved, and potential collisions of traffic routes that often have to be solved in several height levels, can be removed. From the so-obtained technological unit 3D model the basic 2D drawing views and cuts are subsequently generated, being further processed using the AutoCAD programme. For the project documentation itself, AutoCAD is utilised as the final CAD instrument in connection to the necessity of communication with foreign partners, solving supplies of other technologies, deliveries of building works or coordination of construction of the entire plant.

Design and production of new devices, machine units for repair and supporting steel structures is an area where the 3D solution, provided by the Autodesk Inventor system, is fully utilised. 3D designing in these purely engineering activities provides high comfort of control, simplicity of production documentation generating and, last but not least, allows searching an ideal solution in electronic form, or removing potential functional insufficiencies which leads to significant time and financial savings, as well as to permanent enhancement of the machine equipment supplies quality. With the help of the Autodesk Inventor design system we have been successful in solving even large and technically demanding machineries. As an example we can mention the chain-bucket dredger designed for the lower exploitation of natural brick raw material, complete production documentation of which was generated using Autodesk Inventor Professional. The 3D model of the dredger contains approximately 3200 unique parts and the generated drawing documentation contains 960 drawings.
